Richard Macdonald

Born in Pasadena, California in 1946, Richard MacDonald was educated in painting and illustration at the Art Center College of Design, MacDonald was successful as a commercial illustrator until a fire destroyed his studio and all his accumulated works. 


Subsequently, he began sculpting and became one of the most collected present-day figurative sculptors in America. His work has been acquired for permanent collections such as AT&T, IBM, Anheuser-Busch, and notable private ones.  


He has done several important commissions including "The Flair" for the 1996 Summer Olympics and one displaying the mechanics of the ideal golf swing for the 100th Anniversary of the U.S. Open.
