Born in 1933 in Hyde Park, NY, Packard came from a family of artists, including her grandfather and leading Romantic Impressionist

Max Bohm

She studied at Bard College in New York, then apprenticed under Philip Malicoat upon moving to Provincetown, MA in the 1970s.

Packard's work has been celebrated throughout her prolific career, and has been the subject of numerous exhibitions.

Packard states of her work: “My paintings have nothing to do with nature. It's something to do with forever going... the space behind the sky... the space behind the shadow."
