Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Perez felt at home holding a paintbrush from the age of 9. At that time, he was producing surprisingly mature portraits of family and friends. His parents played a huge role in his creative development; his mother was artistic and imaginative, while his father was a clandestine character well known locally for his various business dealings that operated  after dark in nightclubs and on the city streets.

This exposed Fabian to an interesting cast of characters who lived their lives on the edge.
