Barbara Roche

Barbara, a painter who lives and works in Minneapolis, studied at Utah State and the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. Her work is frequently sensual and enveloping; as the rhythmic qualities of her paintings are clearly influenced by the role dance plays in her life. Barbara became involved in Flamenco shortly after college. She has spent extended time in Spain to study with masters of the flamenco art form. She continues to dance today.

As the premier encaustic painter in the Midwest, she developed the curriculum and taught encaustic painting at the Minneapolis College of Art  & Design.
